This Web development framework from Microsoft, following the Model-View-Controller design pattern, emphasizes separation of concerns in the architecture of applications. The course uses the Razor view engine throughout. The Model chapter includes a database example using the LocalDB version of SQL Server 2019 Express, which is bundled with Visual Studio 2022. The course includes introductions to ASP.NET Web API and deployment on the Windows Azure cloud.
The course is a an introduction to ASP.NET MVC Core programming using C#. It endeavors to give insight into how ASP.NET MVC Core works as well as provide how-to instruction. The course is hands-on, with numerous programming examples and exercises and in-class demonstrations that can be led by the instructor. It can be delivered using any up-to-date version of Visual Studio 2022, including the free Visual Studio Community 2022.
